Visit to our French Partnership School
Sat 29 Oct 2016During October 2016, Mr. Davies and Miss Davies spent a few days visiting our partner school based in a small village called Romagne, 30 minutes south of Bordeaux. It gave us the opportunity to learn more about the curriculum and style of teaching used as well as the leadership structure within the French educational system.
We were thrilled to meet Mdme Barbara Colin again, one of the teachers working in the Romagne school who visited Willowbrook back in March of this year. We greatly value this partnership and the pupils from both schools have really enjoyed getting to know each other through letter-writing and in providing regular news updates.
We are looking forward to further developing this partnership in the year to come!

Eco Committee renew school planters
Fri 30 Sep 2016Our Eco Committee are once again back to work helping to make the school look vibrant and organised! They have worked hard (under the guidance of Mrs Barber and Miss Davies) to revive our planters around the school with autumn shrubs and flowers. Fantastic work everyone, diolch yn fawr!

Willowbrook Choir's City Hall Performance
Thu 30 Jun 2016On Wednesday 29th June, our wonderful choir were invited to take part in a city-wide event celebrating academic success and future vision across Cardiff's schools. The evening also gave us the opportunity for us to showcase the fabulous work the Eco Committee and the wider school have been involved in as we prepare to apply for the Platinum Award. The choir sang two rousing songs that truly lifted the spirit and it was a joy to see how they rose to the occasion, making us all so proud of them arddechog pawb!

Nursery visit to Caerphilly Mountain Ranch
Tue 21 Jun 2016Our Nursery pupils had a wonderful time exploring the countryside and of course meeting the Gruffalo on their special day out! Thank you Mums and Dads for joining us for the day - we hope you all enjoyed!

Sports Day 2016
Fri 10 Jun 2016Thank you to all our pupils for taking part so enthusiastically in our Sports Days over this week. The weather was kind to us and we enjoyed seeing the children perform in a variety of disciplines and routines.
The overall house points scores were as follows:
4th place: Elm - 2287 points
3rd place: Willow - 2481 points
2nd place: Oak - 2677 points
1st place: Ash - 2770 points

Jump Rope sponsored event 2016
Mon 06 Jun 2016Well done boys, girls (and staff!) for taking part in today's Jump Rope event to help raise funds for school PE equipment. The weather was beautiful and the skipping and jumping skills were on show from our youngest to the oldest pupils! Thank you Mums & Dads for all your support in helping raise funds to help us make even better provision for healthy activities at Willowbrook - enjoy the photos!

Go Green Day
Fri 27 May 2016We are working towards achieving the Eco Platinum Award and our 'Go Green Day' gave the school the opportunity to think about how we can be eco-friendly in very practical ways. We were delighted to welcome Tim Roberts who led an assembly on Eco Living and carried out some excellent workshops with classes in Key Stage 2. Have a look at the pictures and see how eco aware the pupils and staff at Willowbrook are!
