Berllan Deg visit to Willowbrook
Tue 12 Feb 2019It was a real delight to welcome the 'Dreigiau' group from Berllan Deg Primary School today. They came along equipped with some playground games which they shared with Class 2 - all in the medium of Welsh of course! Our 'Playground Players' and 'Criw Cymraeg' joined them and the plan is that, having learnt the games, they will now take on the role of teaching them to the rest of the pupils in Foundation Phase!
A great example of school to school working in the hope that we can develop our Welsh language skills - and who better to learn from than our friends at Berllan Deg!

Year 5 visit to Storey Arms
Fri 08 Feb 2019What a week we had...strong winds, heavy rain, sleet, hail, rainbows and sun all rolled into four unforgettable days in the Brecon Beacons! Our Year 5 group experienced new adventures, tried new sports and activities and most definitely proved themselves to be resilient, committed and positive throughout. The pictures paint the picture so well and as teachers, we also thoroughly enjoyed sharing with them on this exciting and adventurous learning journey!

Fruit Promotion by the Healthy Crew!
Thu 31 Jan 2019Great work again our 'Healthy Crew' who have turned their idea into a reality and have once again done a great job in promoting healthy eating! A great variety of fruit, beautifully laid out and eagerly enjoyed by the pupils. Well done to Mrs Ellis and the Crew for encouraging us all to eat and enjoy our 'five a day!'

Paper Aeroplane event!
Thu 08 Nov 2018We had a great time welcoming over 80 parents & grandparents through our doors to see their hard work in making paper aeroplanes to launch! There were many creative designs showing great aeronautical skills! Well done to everyone for contributing so positively to the sessions; it was lovely to see the hall buzzing with conversation and creativity.
Congratulations to two of our pupils whose planes travelled the furthest...10.3m and 11.1m - that was nearly the length of the hall itself!

Girls' Football Festival
Tue 23 Oct 2018Our girls' football teams took part in a festival at Leckwith Stadium and performed really well. Both teams played 6 games and won their respective groups, narrowly missing out on the semi-finals! Well done girls, great skill and tenacity shown across the board!

International 'Day of the Girl' event
Thu 11 Oct 2018It was great for some of our KS2 girls to be in involved in this international event showcasing their talent and skill across a range of disciplines at UWIC. The photos show their finesse and enthusiasm and showed the talent pool at Willowbrook while also recognising equal opportunities for all of our children.
