Football Tournament at Leckwith Stadium
Tue 16 Jan 2018Two teams from Willowbrook took part in the 6-a-side footie tournament at Leckwith today; despite the bitingly cold conditions, the lads played with passion, commitment and plenty of panache!
The results were as follows:

Won 3
Drew 3
Lost 1
They narrowly missed out on qualifying for the play-offs but made us all (parents, Mr Brady & Mr. Evans!) very proud of them. Great work lads!

Carols in the Playground
Thu 21 Dec 2017The weather stayed fine for us to hold our annual 'Carols in the Playground' today! The children enjoyed singing a variety of Christmas carols and songs and it was wonderful to see so many Mums, Dads and Grandparents join us for the occasion!

Foundation Phase Christmas Concert 2017

Year 3 perform at the 'Strictly Come Dancing' Showcase
Thu 14 Dec 2017Our Year 3 pupils loved having the opportunity to perform at St. Illtyd's High School as part of a showcase involving three other local Primaries. They performed the 'Jive' and 'Cha cha cha' and got a definite '10' from all who were there - a great evening, well done to our Year 3 boys and girls! Our thanks also to Creazione who have worked with the school over the past six weeks, helping develop the children's dance moves and routines!

Eco Committee visit the National Botanical Gardens
Tue 12 Dec 2017On a cold, snowy Tuesday our Eco Committee paid a Christmas related visit to the National Botanical Gardens just outside Carmarthen. They had the exciting task of decorating their own Christmas tree using recyclable materials, preparing seed for birds to enjoy during the winter months, seeing a beautiful array of butterflies and of course meeting Santa and his very special elf...the pictures tell the full story!

Year 6 visit Crucial Crew
Thu 30 Nov 2017Year 6 really did find out how crucial our emergency and public services are to us during their 'Crucial Crew' experience! They were given the opportunity to experience practical demonstrations of the difference so many services make to our everyday lives. They listened intently and behaved superbly well - arddechog pawb!

Eco Committee help clear out the school planters

ICT meeting for Parents
Wed 22 Nov 2017Our talented pupils had the opportunity to share with parents all their IT knowledge today and they did a sterling job too! They were able to share all that they have learnt in the implementation of the new DCF (Digital Competency Framework) which is part of the new Welsh curriculum devised by Professor Donaldson. Out thanks to our ICT Subject Leaders, Miss Randall, Miss Lawrence & Mr. Slade for overseeing the event and of course to our parents for their ongoing interest and support!

Year 6 visit Cardiff Castle
Tue 07 Nov 2017Our Year 6 classes paid a memorable visit to Cardiff Castle where the theme and focus of their time there was World War 2 which is their topic for this term. They learnt about the need for black-outs to avoid bomb detection; they looked at the type of food that British citizens could eat during rationing and experience life in the bunker when the air raid sirens were sounded! An excellent visit which captivated their interest and imagination as they continue to discover what life was like for those living through a time of war. Year 5 visit Caerleon
Thu 26 Oct 2017Year 5 had a great time and rich historical experience visiting Caerleon, a gem of a village, with significant Roman history attached to it! A great focus for their topic this term, bringing history to life for them!
