Well, a week of weather contrasts as we faced wet and slippery conditions last week and basked in a heatwave less than a week later! However, the pupils responded superbly well and took part in the events with great enthusiasm and no small measure of skill and finesse!
We had the following races:
- Egg and Spoon
- Grandpa Relay
- Sack Race
- Three-legged race
- Tug-of-War
Well done everyone for giving it your all in the searing heat!
All of our pupils once again enjoyed taking part in our annual 'Jump Rope' event to help raise money to fund the purchase of a new school minibus (our current one has served us well but is over 18 years old now!).
The photos show the fun they had, the weather was kind and the heart rates certainly increased due to the challenge!
Thank you everyone for taking part so enthusiastically - it was a great start to our 'Health & Fitness Week!'
Our Junior JRSO Team delivered some key messages and reminders to the school through their assembly today. The main theme was to encourage us to keep safe when crossing roads and make wise and responsible decisions - well done team, you delivered brilliantly!
(JRSO stands for Junior Road Safety Officer)
As part of Year 3's curriculum project alongside pupils from Oakfield Primary, they visited the Senedd to meet a special person from Planet Gwbodaeth! She was delighted to receive various artefacts revealing what life is like on Planet Earth! The pupils then took part in an exploration trail to find out more about the life and history of Cardiff Bay.
They have learnt some amazing things through this project and have developed their historical skills leading to some superb work - gwaith dda pawb!
