Thanks to all the children and staff for coming to school dressed in colourful, fluorescent and luminous items of clothing as part of our 'Be Bright' Day. This was organised in conjunction with Sustrans to help communicate the important message of being visible and therefore safe when walking, running, cycling or scooting.
Thanks to Miss Davies for organising the event and to Sustrans for the supply of great prizes! The following pupils came first in their individual classes for wearing the brightest outfits!
Class 1: Amelia Williams Class 2: Noah Dutton-Henry
Class 3: Bintou Bojang Class 4: Thomas-Joel Roberts
Class 5: Caleb Powditch O'Connell Class 6: Bella Garbett
Class 7: Poppy Lloyd Class 8: Tia Thomas
Class 9: Alex Lidgey Class 10: Skye Shapcott
Class 11: Emelia Hennessey Class 12: Harley Blake
Class 13: Kacey McKonkey
Some of our Key Stage Two children visited UWIC to see their superb artwork exhibited on the campus. Their work was based around how to represent the process of metamorphosis and the pictures show they captured this so well! Our thanks to Mrs Williams and Miss Barlow for their guidance and support through the project and we wish them every success in their teaching careers.
Mr. Paul Griffiths from the County's Road Safety Team delivered an assembly remiding the children of the importance of safe travel. He explained that bikes should be checked using the ABC approach: A-air (check tyres) / B-brakes / C-chain.
He also reminded the children of the importance of wearing a helmet and being visible, ideally using a 'high-viz' jacket.
It was really good to be reminded of these key points!
