  • Hwyl fawr Mrs. Marchesi!

Wed 09 Dec 2015 Steve Davies
On Wednesday 9th December, we said our official 'Goodbye' to Mrs. Marchesi who has left Willowbrook to become Headteacher at St. Mellons Church in Wales Primary School. One of our Year 6 pupils read a lovely poem, our Head Boy & Head Girl presented Mrs Marchesi with a gift and the school sang a song written especially for her. We will miss Mrs. Marchesi but know that her new school will appreciate her as much as we do!
  • Eco Committee Christmas Tree Competition

Fri 04 Dec 2015 Steve Davies
The Eco Committee represented the school in a Christmas Tree Decoration Competition  in the National Botanic Gardens of Wales on Thursday 3rd December 2015. The whole school from Nursery through to Year 6 made a range of tree decorations from everyday waste materials (such as toilet rolls, milk bottle tops and cardboard boxes) and natural materials (such as pine cones, willow and wood) . This year's theme was "A Magical Christmas Woodland". The children produced some amazing decorations made from old light bulbs, pop bottles, leaves and willow. Although we didn't win a prize this year, we felt our tree was the best decorated! The Eco Committee represented the school in a way which made Mrs Barber, Ms Thomas and Mr Eagles very proud! Da Iawn Pawb!
  • Miss Davies' assembly on France

Wed 02 Dec 2015 Steve Davies
Today Miss Davies shared with the children her visit to Romane, Bordeaux a few weeks back. She explained how there were some similiarities to what we do here at Willowbrook but also that there are many differences too!
It was lovely to see how enthusiastic the children are to develop this link and letters will be written to make new friendships with boys and girls from another country.
The pictures attached give a snapshot of what the children learnt through this assembly - merci beaucoup Miss Davies!
