  • World Book Day

Fri 16 Mar 2018 Steve Davies
Slightly delayed by the snow, today was the day we celebrated 'World Book Day!' The pupils had the opportunity to hear a book read by a different teacher and engage in lots of book-related fun activities. The outfits were absolutely amazing, huge thanks to our pupils and parents for a tremendous turn-out!
  • Eisteddfod 2018

Mon 12 Mar 2018 Steve Davies

Our Eisteddfod took place a little later than planned (due to the snow!) but it was well worth the wait! We celebrated the children's superb work, in home projects, artwork, handwriting, singing, performing and of course in the creative writing department!

Congratulations to Willow House who came through winners of the 'St. David's Day shield' for this year!

Llongyfarchiadau (Congratulations) also to Lindsay Djiaga who wrote a brilliant poem about Wales and was our 'Bard winner' this year!

  • Year 5 perform at the Senedd

Thu 08 Mar 2018 Steve Davies
What a terrific performance from our Year 5 pupils under the guidance and coaching of Dan & Sian from the Welsh National Opera! They performed two suffragette songs at the Senedd along with St. Mellons Primary School and what a team they were. Their performance was part of a focus on the well known suffragette ‘Lady Rhondda’ (Margaret Mackworth) linked to ‘International Women’s Day’. We were so proud of this achievement and each pupil did their part to make the evening so memorable. Well done!
  • Willowbrook Girls v Llysfaen Girls

Tue 06 Mar 2018 Steve Davies
Well done to our girls who played really well in their first football match v Llysfaen Primary School. The final score saw Llysfaen come away 2-0 winners but encouraging early signs in this performance from our girls. Well done all!
  • Year 5's stay at Storey Arms

Fri 16 Feb 2018 Steve Davies

What an unforgettable time our Year 5 pupils enjoyed at Storey Arms in February...gorge-walking, canoeing, hill-walking (in the snow), icicles finding, water sliding, you name it and they did it!

The photos tell the story - we had a brilliant time and our thanks to the Instructors who were superb in guiding, organising and ensuring we had three action-packed and fun-filled days!

  • Reception's Bounceathon!

Thu 15 Feb 2018 Steve Davies
Our Reception classes had a fabulous time on our bouncy castle jumping to raise money for our chicks that will hopefully arrive after the holiday! Enjoy the photos as much as the children enjoyed their bounceathon!
  • Football Tournament at Leckwith Stadium

Tue 16 Jan 2018 Steve Davies

Two teams from Willowbrook took part in the 6-a-side footie tournament at Leckwith today; despite the bitingly cold conditions, the lads played with passion, commitment and plenty of panache!

    The results were as follows:

    Played 7

    Won 3

    Drew 3

    Lost 1

They narrowly missed out on qualifying for the play-offs but made us all (parents, Mr Brady & Mr. Evans!) very proud of them. Great work lads!

  • Carols in the Playground

Thu 21 Dec 2017 Steve Davies
The weather stayed fine for us to hold our annual 'Carols in the Playground' today! The children enjoyed singing a variety of Christmas carols and songs and it was wonderful to see so many Mums, Dads and Grandparents join us for the occasion!
  • Foundation Phase Christmas Concert 2017

  • Year 3 perform at the 'Strictly Come Dancing' Showcase

Thu 14 Dec 2017 Steve Davies
Our Year 3 pupils loved having the opportunity to perform at St. Illtyd's High School as part of a showcase involving three other local Primaries. They performed the 'Jive' and 'Cha cha cha' and got a definite '10' from all who were there - a great evening, well done to our Year 3 boys and girls! Our thanks also to Creazione who have worked with the school over the past six weeks, helping develop the children's dance moves and routines!
