  • Year 5 visit to Storey Arms

Sat 28 Jan 2017 Steve Davies
What a fantastic three days our Year 5 pupils experienced at the Storey Arms Outdoor Education Centre! The weather was dry but incredibly cold yet this did not deter our determined pupils who learnt so much through every experience...hill-walking, gorge-exploring, tunnel discovering, canoeing, dorm tidying, meal serving and team-building! Thanks to the fabulous instructors who guided, helped and cared for us all. We had an unforgettable time!
  • Willowbrook's Food Co-op arrives!

Fri 20 Jan 2017 Steve Davies
The first orders have been put in for delicious fruit & veg for our pupils, parents (and staff!). Thanks to Mrs Fry for co-ordinating and this will be a regular plan for Fridays at the school in time for the weekend. Please pop into the school if you are interested in putting in a fruit and/or veg order!
  • Jordan Howe, Paralympian, visits Willowbrook!

Wed 18 Jan 2017 Steve Davies
We were delighted to welcome Jordan Howe, Paralympian sprinter, to Willowbrook today. He took part in both the 2012 and 2016 Paralympics in London & Rio respectively. He shared with the pupils his career journey so far (he is from St. Mellons originally!) and encouraged them not to give up when faced with challenges in life. It was an inspirational visit and we look forward to following the course of his future career with great interest.

  • Fantastic Eco Christmas Decorations!

Tue 06 Dec 2016 Steve Davies
Thank you to all our pupils for making such colourful, Christmasy and eco-friendly decorations for our Christmas tree - and to Miss Davies with the Eco-Committee for doing a great job in decorating it! A wonderful snowman too, made by one of our clever Reception pupils, Sebastian Cowan!
  • Willowbrook wins the Eco Platinum Award!

Wed 09 Nov 2016 Steve Davies
Wow, WHAT an achievement Willowbrook! The most highly sought after Eco based award has been granted to Willowbrook after its outstanding work to 'reduce, reuse and recycle!' This message permeates all that the school recognises as important in its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint. The Eco Committee, guided so ably by Mrs Barber and Miss Davies, has done an absolutely sterling job in helping make us all aware of the importance of being eco-friendly in our recycling of food waste, plastics, paper and cardboard. We are so proud of you all and am sure our Mums and Dads are too. Look out for the green flag blowing proudly in the wind outside the school as a daily reminder of this success!
  • Nursery Fireworks!

Wed 09 Nov 2016 Steve Davies
The Nursery children produced some beautiful pictures of fireworks as a reminder of the fun they had on the 5th November!
  • Visit to our French Partnership School

Sat 29 Oct 2016 Steve Davies
During October 2016, Mr. Davies and Miss Davies spent a few days visiting our partner school based in a small village called Romagne, 30 minutes south of Bordeaux. It gave us the opportunity to learn more about the curriculum and style of teaching used as well as the leadership structure within the French educational system.

We were thrilled to meet Mdme Barbara Colin again, one of the teachers working in the Romagne school who visited Willowbrook back in March of this year. We greatly value this partnership and the pupils from both schools have really enjoyed getting to know each other through letter-writing and in providing regular news updates.

We are looking forward to further developing this partnership in the year to come!
